How NOT To Make Money

So Many Roads To Nowhere

Like crossing a river, there are many proven and effective ways to make money. Unfortunately for those keen to seek their fortune, most money making schemes are up there with walking on water while pushing a wheelbarrow full of bricks. Here’s a quick skim through some of the many ways you might think would lead to riches, but that will in fact lead you up someone else’s garden path.

Well, you could do worse than start out trying to win a load of money. Surely it can’t get any easier than simply having bucket loads of filthy lucre tipped over you?

But if you want to be a little more proactive than waiting in for your big win, there’s no shortage of How To Get Rich books out there, practically gagging to let you in on the secrets to unlocking the wealth creating monster within you.

Looking for something a little more immediate still? How about a guaranteed method to make $15,763 per month working from home? Start earning NOW with the 7 AMAZING SECRETS they don’t want you to know!

Starting to cotton on that the essential ingredients always seem to be secret? It’s a true wonder how they manage to keep everyone else from finding out. But hey, this one’s the biggy – it’s The Secret no less. Become a mazuma magnet; attract the cash; manifest great steaming piles of moolah.

Don’t hold with the schpiel? How about actually buying and selling stuff? You know, start a business on eBay, or maybe knock up an eCommerce WebSite and flog real stuff? Gotta be a few spondulicks in that.

Or maybe start a Blog and plaster adverts all over it. Zero startup costs and just write a few posts now and then. How could you possibly fail? To be fair, it is possible to earn money this way but it is neither quick or easy and like most endeavors that have a low barrier to entry, most hopefuls who set off all starry-eyed on this particular Yellow Brick Road wind up sixpence none the richer.

The Way of the World

Of course, you could always just carry on doing what you’re doing. I mean like that’s been so successful so far. What’s that you say? It hasn’t? Ah! Maybe you’re finally beginning to catch on.

You see, the thing is this. Focusing on yourself and your own perfectly understandable desire for wealth is never going to earn you a dime. And the reason is simplicity itself.

To make money you must sell something to other people, preferably lots of other people. It doesn’t actually matter what you sell or even whether you charge for it directly or not. Widgets, whiskey, wit, bullets, beer, beauty – it really doesn’t matter so long as you have something that others might want.

To achieve this you need to focus not on your desires but on theirs, your customers. You have to offer something that is of value to them. Do this and you will also learn another of the keys to success , namely the more you give, the more you get back.

But where to begin? How about where there are others already digging for treasure? Like here, for one small example. Not this specific page, which (like the others associated with this category) was written purely for amusement and to goad those who would actually believe you if you told them they were gullible. But other sections of the site that provide well researched, solid, easy to understand information on a range of subjects that many people are in fact quite interested in.

Sounds a bit like hard work? You’re not wrong there – it is (or rather was, since what’s written stays written). But that’s the truth of it; there’s nothing remotely passive about creating so-called passive income.

But what the hell eh? It’s soooo hard to resist just one more website promising to reveal how to make quick and easy money. C’mon – you seriously came here looking for irony?
